Refund Policy
Explains how refund requests for Writer Pro (the paid plan) are handled. Because our payment provider Paddle acts as Merchant of Record, refunds are governed primarily by Paddle's own Buyer Terms and its current Refund Policy.

Refund requests are governed by Paddle's own processes
Because your Writer Pro purchase is processed through Paddle, acting as Merchant of Record (authorized reseller), refund requests are governed primarily by the rules set out in Paddle's current Buyer Terms document and its Refund Policy, as well as applicable mandatory consumer law. This page does not replace those documents - it's a summary that complements them.
Withdrawal right for consumers in Turkey
If you are purchasing as a consumer in Turkey, applicable consumer protection law may grant you a right to withdraw, without giving a reason, within 14 days of the transaction date, for certain digital content/service contracts. The scope of this right and any exceptions (e.g. digital content deliveries where you consented to immediate performance and acknowledged the loss of your withdrawal right) are set out in Paddle's Refund Policy and applicable law.
This 14-day right does NOT conflict with the review process described below under "Not every request is automatically approved" - your statutory withdrawal right is always preserved and is not replaced by that review process.
How to request a refund
You can submit a refund request in two ways: through Paddle's order support (via the Paddle Customer Portal, or the link in the invoice/receipt Paddle sent you), or directly through the yazar.io support channel.
- yazar.io support: support@yazar.io
- Paddle order support: the Paddle Customer Portal (via the "Manage Subscription" button on the Settings page), or the link in the invoice/receipt Paddle sent you
What kinds of situations are reviewed
Besides the withdrawal right above, requests are also reviewed for situations such as:
- A duplicate charge (more than one payment for the same period)
- A payment that was processed incorrectly, or for the wrong amount, due to a technical error
- A payment made on your account without your authorization (unauthorized access)
- A persistent technical issue that left you unable to access Writer Pro's core promised features for a reasonable period
Not every request is automatically approved
Requests that fall outside your mandatory withdrawal right above are not automatically approved - each such request is reviewed individually, in light of the categories above and Paddle's own Buyer Terms document.
This review process does NOT affect any statutory refund or withdrawal rights granted to you under applicable consumer protection law that cannot be limited by contract - those rights are always preserved.
How and when a refund is issued
An approved refund is issued, where possible, to the original payment method you used. Once Paddle approves the refund, processing is typically completed within 14 days; how long it takes to actually appear on your bank or card statement depends on your bank's own posting times and can take longer - this delay is outside yazar.io's and Paddle's control.
Approval of a refund does NOT automatically cancel your subscription - a refund and a subscription cancellation are separate actions, see below. Under Paddle's own policy, your access to the refunded product may end following a refund.
A refund is a different action from canceling your subscription
Paddle approving a refund does not automatically cancel your subscription - a refund and a subscription cancellation are two independent actions. The refund record reaches our systems automatically and securely, but your account's plan only reverts to the Writer plan once your subscription is actually canceled (either by you, via the Paddle Customer Portal, or by Paddle ending it under its own rules).
In neither case are any of your existing books, characters, or other content DELETED.
A refund is a different action from deleting your account
Requesting a refund is NOT the same as requesting that your account be deleted. A refund only concerns your payment; it does not affect your account, books, or other data. If you want to permanently delete your account, you need to separately use the "Delete Account" flow on the Settings page - see the Data Deletion and Account Closure Notice.
Your mandatory consumer rights are preserved
Nothing in this document removes or limits any right granted to you by applicable consumer protection law (including any statutory right of withdrawal in distance contracts) that cannot be limited by contract.
