Family Tree Software
yazar.io's Family Tree section shows Parent/Spouse/Sibling relationships between characters on a drag-and-drop canvas (built on React Flow). Set up a link either from a character's own profile or from the family tree itself, and it reflects automatically on the other side - no manual syncing between the two.
What does the Family Tree screen offer?
Every character appears as a node on a drag-and-drop canvas; Parent/Spouse/Sibling relationships are shown as colored, labeled edges. You can create a link by dragging between two nodes, then click an edge to change its type or delete it.
How do relationships stay in sync with a character's own page?
A link you set up from a character's own Parent/Spouse/Sibling field shows up in the family tree automatically, and a link you set up from the family tree reflects back onto the character's profile - you never have to keep the same data updated manually in two places.
How is the Sibling relationship different from the others?
Unlike Parent/Spouse, Sibling supports both multi-select (you can add more than one sibling at once) and symmetric behavior - whoever you add as a character's sibling automatically shows that character as their sibling too, on their own page, with no need to add it a second time.
Is there a limit on how many characters the family tree can hold?
No limit - every character in the book automatically appears as a node on the family tree canvas; whether you connect them is up to you.
Can I draw a map or geography in the family tree?
No, the Family Tree only shows Parent/Spouse/Sibling relationships between characters - it isn't a geographic map editor.
Can the family tree be edited in the sample (demo) book?
No, the Sample Book is read-only - you can only view its family tree; in your own book, you get full drag-and-drop editing.
