Card Highlights
Not every card in your character, location or item list has to show the same information. In yazar.io you choose up to three profile fields or relationships to show on a record's card, so the most important information for that record stands out the moment you look at the list.
How it works
While editing a record, tap the star next to a row in Profile or Relations to highlight that field on the card. You can pick up to three; to highlight a fourth, remove one first. Records where you haven't picked anything keep showing the usual default information on their card.
Profile fields and relationships
A highlight can be a profile field (for example a character's age or a location's climate) or a relationship (for example the organization a character belongs to). When you pick a relationship, the card shows the related record's name. A field with an empty value isn't shown on the card, but your choice isn't lost; it appears once you fill the field in.
The same card everywhere
Your highlights appear the same way in your book's section lists, on the Overview, in the iPhone, iPad and Android app and, if you've opened your book as a Shareable Wiki, on the wiki. Your readers see the information you find important when they look at a character.
When is it useful?
When you want to tell characters in a large cast apart by role or by the group they belong to, scan locations by region, or see items by rarity. You get the big picture of your world from the cards without opening each page.
Are highlights chosen per record?
Yes, highlights are per record; the fields you pick for one character don't affect other characters.
Can I highlight custom fields I've added?
Yes. Just like the ready-made profile fields, you can star your own custom fields to highlight them on the card.
Is this available on the free plan?
Yes, Card Highlights are available on both plans.
