Timeline Software

yazar.io's Event Flow section is a simple timeline tool that keeps short titled events, each with a date label, stacked in chronological order. It doesn't force a specific calendar system, you can use a fictional one too.

What does the Event Flow screen offer?

Each event is added with a short title, a date label, and an optional description, events are automatically listed in chronological order. You can add new events as the story grows and reorder them by dragging. Your creative content, including event descriptions, is also stored encrypted in the database (AES-256-GCM); the keys that unlock it are kept separately, protected by Google Cloud KMS.

How does it connect to other sections?

Typing @Name in an event's description links it to the related character or place, and that link shows up on the other page too, so events stay connected to the rest of your world instead of sitting as isolated notes.

Why is the date label free text?

The date label (say, 'Year 3, Harvest Month') is completely free text, no real calendar system is imposed, you can use your own fictional calendar, seasons, or year-counting system as is.

Who is it a good fit for?

It's especially useful in genres where clue order or chronology matters, like mystery or historical fiction, see mystery and thriller writing software.

Is Event Flow a real calendar?

No, the date label is free text, you can use your own fictional calendar system.

Are parallel timelines visually separated?

No, it's a single ordered list, for multiple parallel timelines you'll need your own labeling convention (like adding a marker to an event's title).

Is it easy to edit or delete an event?

Yes, the same standard edit/delete actions apply as with records in other sections.

Can Event Flow be edited in the sample book?

No, the Sample Book is read-only, you can only view it, in your own book you get full editing.
