Can the details in my story be linked together?

Yes. You can link characters to family members, organizations, locations, items, and other elements of your story. The connections you create show up automatically on the related pages; relationships like parent and spouse also show up in your family tree.

Links are automatic - @ is an optional shortcut

There's no special step required: if an entity's name already appears anywhere in your text, it gets linked to that entity automatically when you save. The @ symbol is a completely optional shortcut - it opens a suggestion list as you type, and picking one creates the link right away, before you even save; it's especially handy when more than one entity shares the same name and you want to pick the right one.

That connection doesn't stay one-directional either way - open the page you mentioned, and a backlink panel automatically lists every page that mentions it.

That's why opening a character's page automatically shows the organizations they belong to, the locations they live in, and the people they're related to - you don't add them one by one, they're derived from the links inside your text.

Structural relationships: family tree and memberships

Alongside free-form @links, there are also built-in relationship fields: mark a character as another's parent or spouse and it shows up directly in your Family Tree; add them as a member of an organization and that membership appears on both the character's and the organization's page.

The family relationships supported today are parent and spouse - relationship types that need multiple selections, like siblings, are on the roadmap but not implemented yet.

Do I need to create the connection from both sides?

No. A connection you create by typing @Name works both ways automatically - it shows up in a "mentioned on" panel on the other page, with nothing extra for you to add by hand.

Can I add a sibling relationship?

Not yet - the current relationship fields (parent, spouse, organization membership) each target a single record. Multi-select relationships like siblings have been requested and are on the roadmap, but aren't implemented yet.
