Evernote Alternative for Writers
Evernote has been used for years to collect notes in notebooks and tags, and many writers keep their character and world notes there too. But as a world grows, connecting notes and seeing the whole world at a glance gets harder. yazar.io is a ready-made alternative built for fictional worldbuilding.
Why you might be looking for an Evernote alternative
Common reasons: character, location and organization notes piling up as plain notes, relationships between them not showing up on their own, and no ready-made structures like a family tree or the order of events. As notes multiply, you rely on search and tags to find who a character is connected to.
When Evernote is the better fit
For collecting web clippings, documents and general notes, Evernote is still useful. If you organize the rest of your life there and have only a few world notes, you may not need a separate tool.
Why yazar.io if you're writing a novel
You start straight with a book: Characters, Locations, Organizations, Lore, Glossary, Notes, Timeline and Family Tree are ready, and every record comes with profile fields. When you type @Name in any text, the link is created automatically and appears on the other page too. For quick ideas, the Notes section offers types, statuses, pinning and archiving. You can share your world as a free, per-book Shareable Wiki, and there's a permanent free plan.
