What sets fantasy apart from other genres is usually a large cast, multiple POV characters, a magic or power system with its own rules, and consistency that has to hold across a multi-book series. A writing tool's real job in this genre is keeping you from losing that consistency.
What breaks consistency most often in fantasy?
The most common issues: a character's eye color is green in chapter 3 and blue in chapter 40, a magic rule holds in one scene and doesn't in another, or nobody remembers who controls a given location. These slips are annoying even in a single book; across a series they can seriously erode reader trust.
How do you manage a large cast?
Fantasy typically involves dozens of named characters. A dedicated page per character, with relationships shown automatically (which organization they belong to, where they live, their relatives), lets you answer questions like 'who introduced this character, where did they live' by checking a page instead of re-scanning the manuscript.
How do you record magic/power system rules?
The Lore section is a good fit for the world's own rules (the cost of magic, who can use it, its limits) as free text - you can refer back to that rule while writing and check whether a scene you just wrote breaks it.
Does it work for a multi-book series?
Yes - each book is kept as a separate workspace, but you'd have to carry character/location/lore information from one book to the next by hand (there's no automatic cross-book sharing yet).
Is there a dedicated magic system template?
No, there's no built-in 'magic system' field - it's tracked as free text in Lore or via custom fields on characters.
Can I flag which characters are POV characters?
There's no built-in 'POV character' tag, but you can add one yourself as a custom field (e.g. 'POV: Yes/No').
