Can I export my data?
Yes. You can download your book's characters, locations, notes, events, relationships, and other content as Markdown or JSON files whenever you want. Your data isn't locked into yazar.io.
Two formats: Markdown and JSON
You can download your entire book on the spot from the Export section in Book Settings. JSON is meant for moving your data to another tool or backing it up; Markdown packages every entity as a readable, separate file inside a zip - handy for note-taking or sharing directly.
Exporting doesn't store any intermediate file on the server - it's generated the moment you request it and handed straight to your download.
What's included
Every character, location, organization, lore entry, race, creature, item, spell, belief, and glossary term in your book, along with your notes and timeline - and the connections between them (who's related to whom, which organization someone belongs to) - are all included.
Do I pay extra to export my data?
No, exporting is free during the beta, just like every other feature.
Can I export the Sample Book?
No - export is deliberately disabled for the Sample Book since it's a read-only demo. Books you create yourself have no such restriction.
